About Us
The Tanzanian Community Association - Midwest USA is a Not For Profit (NFP) association incorporated in the state of Illinois, USA since November 6th ,2002. The Association’s main objective is to mobilize and unite Tanzanians in Midwest - USA and elsewhere in the world, as well as all friends of Tanzania. Our common purpose is that of addressing the cultural, economic, educational, immigration, health, scientific, and social needs of our community members.
The Association seeks to develop programs and affiliations with state, federal, and international organizations and agencies to further the understanding of Tanzanian culture, issues, and its people. It will develop programs that help the advancement of Tanzanians in the Midwest USA and elsewhere in the world. The association will also endeavor to provide information to the Tanzanian Community Association - Midwest USA, NFP and elsewhere concerning education, economics, health, culture, science and technology, immigration, women's and children issues, and bilateral relationships, all with the goal of promoting their common welfare and well being.
TCA will achieve its goals:
- Through scheduled association and community activities throughout the year
- By encouraging and supporting its members to engage in activities that promote their own welfare such as book drives, educational forums, investment clubs, immigration forums, economic activities etc.
- By acting as a medium for the dissemination and sharing of information as well as ideas on all relevant subjects through meetings, forums; active educational, scientific and cultural campaigns, as well as our newsletter and electronic chat rooms.
Our association formed for our common good and we thus encourage you to register yourself as a member of the association after reading the membership requirements (bylaws). After becoming a member you will be eligible for all the membership benefits. Registering also means that you will be able to participate in and receive communication from the association leadership and other members.
